Grocery shopping
Once you've built a Box, Magic Meal Kit gives you two ways to get the groceries.
Shop with Instacart
Open a Box and tap Shop with Instacart at the bottom. Magic Meal Kit hands the combined shopping list (minus anything marked as a pantry item) straight to Instacart. From there:
- Pick your store.
- Pick pickup or delivery.
- Adjust quantities or swap items in Instacart's UI.
- Check out.
Instacart shoppers handle the rest. Same-day delivery is available in most US zip codes.
You can also shop ingredients for a single recipe (without building a Box) from a recipe's more menu (•••) → Shop Ingredients.
Export to Apple Reminders
Prefer to shop yourself? On iOS, open a Box's more menu (•••) and tap Export to Reminders. The first time you do this, iOS will ask permission to access Reminders.
The list lands in a new Reminders list named after your Box, with one reminder per ingredient (pantry items excluded). Check items off in-store the way you'd use any other Reminders list. Reorganize them, add notes, or share the list with a partner using Apple's normal sharing tools.
Pantry items don't ship
Anything you've marked as a pantry item in your Box is excluded from both the Instacart cart and the Reminders list. To include something, tap its pantry icon to remove the flag. To exclude something instead, tap the icon to mark it as pantry.
Other grocery services
Instacart is the only delivery integration today. Walmart, Amazon Fresh, and Kroger are on the roadmap. In the meantime, Export to Reminders works for any service that you'd shop manually.
